Obama tells Planned Parenthood: Abortion foes want return to 1950s

President Obama vowed Friday to join Planned Parenthood in fighting against what he said are efforts by states to turn women's health back to the 1950s, before the Supreme Court legalized abortion nationwide, and singled out the GOP-governed states of North Dakota and Mississippi for criticism.  "When politicians try to turn Planned Parenthood into a punching bag, they're not just talking about you," Obama said, becoming the first sitting president to address the abortion-rights group in person. "They're talking about the millions of women who you serve."  Obama asserted that "an assault on women's rights" is underway across the country, with bills introduced in more than 40 states to limit or ban abortion or restrict access to birth control or other services.  "The fact is, after decades of progress, there's still those who want to turn back the clock to policies more suited to the 1950s than the 21st century," he said. "And they've been involved in an orchestrated and historic effort to roll back basic rights when it comes to women's health."  Last month, North Dakota Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple signed a law that bans abortions as early as six weeks, or when a fetal heartbeat is detected, making the state the most restrictive in the nation in which to get the procedure.  Obama said "a woman may not even know that she's pregnant at six weeks."  More than a year ago in Mississippi, a "personhood" ballot initiative that would have defined life as beginning at fertilization was defeated by 58 percent of voters in November 2011, the same election in which staunch abortion opponent Phil Bryant, a Republican, was elected governor. Bryant had campaigned for the initiative. Abortion opponents are expected to soon begin a signature-drive to get a similar initiative on the ballot in 2014 or 2015.  "Mississippi's a conservative state, but they wanted to make clear there's nothing conservative about the government injecting itself into decisions best made between a woman and her doctor," Obama said of the voters there.  The president lauded Planned Parenthood's nearly 100 years of providing cancer screenings, contraception and other health services for women and assured those fighting to protect abortion rights that they have an ally in him.  "You've also got a president who's going to be right there with you, fighting every step of the way," Obama said.  In North Dakota, Republican state Rep. Bette Grande, an abortion opponent from Fargo who introduced the bill banning most abortions based on a fetal heartbeat, said she was happy Obama took notice of her state's stance on the issue.  "He is pointing it out because it's true. We have taken a serious look at the life of a child, and the nation is paying attention to that," she said. "We are dealing with life in North Dakota and something as basic as a beating heart."  Laurie Bertram Roberts, Mississippi president of the National Organization for Women, said voters in her state, while conservative, did not misunderstand what "personhood" would have meant for women and families.  "We understand that when you give a fertilized egg the rights of a person, that affects every aspect of pregnancy and reproductive health," she said.  Obama's pledge to stand with Planned Parenthood echoed his rhetoric in last year's presidential campaign after Republican rival Mitt Romney said he'd eliminate the organization's federal funding if elected. That incident, coupled with other issues, led Democrats to begin accusing Republicans of waging a "war on women." Obama went on to win a second term with 55 percent of the female vote, polls showed.  The president originally was scheduled to address Planned Parenthood on Thursday night, but the appearance was delayed to allow him to spend more time in Texas with the loved ones of those who were killed or injured in last week's explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas.  In his short speech on Friday, Obama made no reference to a pair of abortion-related issues that made headlines in recent weeks.  On April 5, a federal judge in New York gave Obama's administration 30 days to begin allowing over-the-counter sales of the morning-after pill, saying the government's decision to limit such sales to those aged 17 and older was "arbitrary, capricious and unreasonable."  Planned Parenthood sided with the judge; the administration has yet to say whether it will file an appeal.  In Pennsylvania, abortion provider Kermit Gosnell is standing trial on charges of killing babies after they were born alive at his West Philadelphia clinic. He also is charged in the 2009 overdose death of a 41-year-old patient. Closing arguments in the case were set for Monday.

Rivers State Governor and Chairman of Nigerian Governors' Forum, Rotimi Amaechi, has ruled out the possibility of having a violent revolution in the country because of the fear factor in many Nigerians.      “Yes, revolution can happen outside Nigeria. But here, I do not think so. Tell me what happened in Sudan, Libya, Zimbabwe and other countries that have not happened here. Our elasticity has no limit. You do not pray for electricity to be regular but you know that some Nigerians pray ‘God, let the light be stable today.’       We pray without working to solve our problems and we think God will do what we are supposed to do for us.”  Governor Amaechi stated this in Ekiti State on Saturday at the second Nigeria Symposium for Young and Emerging Leaders. He said many Nigerians had become used to suffering rather than pushing for a change.  According to him, Nigeria has experienced worse situations than what led
to revolution in some other countries but fear will not allow them take necessary action.  Amaechi said he was sure that those who gathered to protest against the removal of oil subsidy in January 2012 would flee immediately the President drafted soldiers to the Freedom Park in Lagos and other states to quell the uprising, and so it happened.  Stressing that courage is very important to make any meaningful change in Nigeria, Governor Amaechi said anyone who truly wants to see change in Nigeria would never be afraid of guns.  I think he has spoken the truth. Do you agree with him that Nigerians are too scared?

Yesterday, it went viral that a Pastor of CLAM church, Wole Oladiyun warned that Oral S***x was not for Christians. Maybe he read my earlier blog post about Nigerian Men and Oral S***x, or maybe his wife did, and asked him for some, hehehe. The man sparked oh.   In his words, "men and women sucking their private parts are equally damaging their glories. Demonic partners have done a lot of havoc through this act. Honestly, it is simply unhygienic and dirty."  Now, I don't understand the first part of his comment about oral s***x damaging people's glories, or demonic partners, maybe that is what he teaches in his church as doctrine and dogma.  If so, I can't really address it, I am not a pastor obviously, nor his church member. But the second part exposes that his bias and personal opinion is what is majorly driving his condemnation of oral s***x.  Can oral s***x be dirty and unhygienic? Yes. If a man or a woman is not clean and hygienic, or take good care of their genital health, there is a great likelihood they will be smelly, or harbor unwanted fauna and flora in that area. Indeed, cases have been reported of thrush and other mouth and throat infections that come from having oral s***x. The more s**xual partners the person has, and the more lax they are about keeping themselves healthy, the more likely this is that diseases may be passed.  However, the assumption is that married people are faithful to each other, or maybe I'm just hoping. Also, being married, you most times become automatically s***xually active and have to learn to take care of your genital health even more. You wash up regularly, have your check up for STIs, and always make sure you smell clean and fresh before you try to initiate oral s***x. If all these check out, and both man and woman are in the mood for some good loving, then let the fun begin!  So how does this affect Christians? Eya asked on her blog about the biblical basis of pastors who condemn oral s**x or about Christians allowing themselves to enjoy oral s***x, and this is what I have learned on the matter.  There are passages in Songs of Solomon that actually promote how couples can enjoy their s**xuality and different aspects of s***x. I think more Christians need to remove their bias against s***x and read the whole of SOS with new adult eyes. Usually garden and fruits are used to refer to female and male pr**v**te parts.  As an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. With great delight I sat in his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. (Song of Solomon 2:3 ESV)  a garden fountain, a well of living water, and flowing streams from Lebanon. Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind! Blow upon my garden, let its spices flow. Let my beloved come to his garden, and eat its choicest fruits. (Song of Solomon 4:15-16 ESV)  With that said, the bible is just an instruction manual, for the believing Christian, our full direction comes from the Holy Spirit in us. If your conscience makes you uneasy, then it may not be for you. But be sure it is the spirit, sometimes, wrong things we learned in the world can distract us from hearing the spirit clearly. Like someone said, God is not an author of confusion. If your wife or your husband wants oral s***x, and you deny him or her, you are flouting the some bible instructions.  1 Corinthians 7:3-6 : The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. I say this as a CONCESSION, not as a command.  At the end of the day, it is to each their own.  This is According(

Never Argue With a Man, Use Your Brains Like This Lady

Students Design Anti-Molestation/Rape Underwear

After the fatal gang rape of a 23-year-old student on a New Delhi bus last December, 3 Indian engineering students may have found the solution to protecting one's self from rapists. The students designed this camisole – dubbed Society Harnessing Equipment or SHE – which has pressure sensors sewn in around the bust area to detect groping hands and send out shock which can be up to 82 electric shocks.

Explaining their design, co-inventor Manisha Mohan said: “A person trying to molest a girl will get the shock of his life the moment pressure sensors get activated.”
She explained that she and colleagues Niladri Basu and Rimpi Tripathy decided to put the wiring into the clothing after a survey showed most women were first groped on their breasts. The women are protected from the current by polymer insulation in the bra.

The makers are currently fine-tuning the design - hoping the garment will be on sale by the end of this month.

A Heart Touching Story of A Son and His Dad

"While a man was polishing his new car, his 6 year old son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times; not realising he was using a wrench. At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father.....with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?'

The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions.......sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'. The next day the man committed suicide. . .Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life.....
Things are to be used and people are to be loved. But the problem in today's world is that, People are used and things are loved.... In this year, let's be careful to keep this thought in mind: THINGS ARE TO BE USED &
PEOPLE ARE TO BE LOVED. Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits they become character;Watch your character; it becomes your destiny."
